Why We Exist
"The skills gap in African tech isn't a pipeline problem, it's a training problem. We're fixing that."

Zimbabwe has talented, ambitious people who want to work in tech. What they often lack is access to practical, industry-grade training that reflects what employers actually need on day one. Techaven was built to fix that.

We don't teach theory for its own sake. Every course we run is designed around real tools, real scenarios, and real outcomes, because that's what moves careers forward.

Practical-first Community-driven Industry-led Africa-focused Security-minded
What Drives Every Decision
Our three core commitments
Hands-On From Day One

Every course includes live labs using the same tools professionals use in the field. No setup anxiety, we handle the environment.

Taught by Practitioners

Our instructors aren't career academics. They're active professionals who bring current industry knowledge into every session.

Outcomes That Matter

We measure success by what happens after training, certifications earned, roles secured, problems solved in the real world.

Our Journey

How Techaven Came to Be

From a conversation between two colleagues to a training company serving hundreds, here's the story so far.

2022, The Idea
A Problem Worth Solving

Two colleagues working in IT noticed the same pattern, talented graduates joining the industry without the practical skills their roles demanded. The idea for Techaven was born from that frustration.

Early 2023, Launch
First Cohort, First Lessons

Techaven launched its first Ethical Hacking cohort in Harare with 12 students. The feedback was clear: practical training worked. Every student completed a capstone penetration test on a real-world environment.

Mid 2023, Growth
Expanding the Curriculum

Word spread fast. Within six months Techaven had added Full Stack Web Development and Systems Audit to the curriculum, tripling enrolment and bringing on its first external instructors.

2024, Scale
200+ Alumni & Counting

Techaven crossed 200 trained professionals, launched a corporate training track, and began working directly with organisations to upskill their existing teams. The platform and website followed.

2025, Now
Building the Future

9 courses running in parallel. A growing community of alumni. An IT equipment arm in development. And a clear mission: become the most trusted tech training institution in southern Africa.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Every course we build, every session we run, every student we train, these principles guide how we work.

01

Practical Over Theoretical

We believe in learning by doing. Every concept we teach is anchored in a real-world exercise, tool, or scenario. If you can't apply it on day one, we haven't taught it properly.

02

Community Above All

Tech thrives in community. Our alumni network, peer learning sessions, and collaborative labs are as valuable as the course content itself. We build people, not just skills.

03

Outcomes-Obsessed

A certificate means nothing if it doesn't change your career. We track where our alumni go and continually update our curriculum to reflect what employers are actually asking for.

04

Integrity in Everything

We teach ethical practice because it matters, especially in cybersecurity. We hold ourselves and our students to the highest professional standards. No shortcuts.

05

Always Evolving

The tech landscape changes constantly. Our curriculum, our tools, and our teaching methods evolve with it. What we taught last year is already being updated for this year.

06

Africa-First Mindset

We're proudly Zimbabwean and proudly African. We build our courses with the local tech ecosystem in mind, because the problems our students will solve are right here.
